Prepare Access Before the First Working Day

A useful onboarding request identifies the employee, start date, role, manager, location, and approved applications. That gives IT a basis for preparing a device, assigning the right licenses, and creating access that matches the role.

ParJenn helps turn those inputs into a repeatable checklist. Approval matters: copying another employee’s permissions without review can grant access that the new person does not need.

Automated Employee Transition Workflows

Offboarding is more than disabling one account. The plan may involve sign-in sessions, remote access, business applications, shared information, equipment return, and vendor-managed services. Timing needs to be coordinated with the authorized business contact.

Files and messages may need preservation or transfer to another owner. Those decisions belong with the business and its applicable policies; IT should not assume that deleting an account or wiping a device is the right first step.

  • Account and license provisioning: Prepare access, license assignments, and hardware around the approved role and start date.
  • Departure access removal: Trigger deprovisioning and access-removal actions when an authorized departure request is received.
  • Equipment return: Coordinate and track the return of laptops and other equipment for office-based and remote staff.
  • Documented completion: Record completed actions and exceptions so HR, management, and IT work from the same status.
  • Shared procedures: Use repeatable workflows for arrivals, departures, and role changes instead of starting from scratch each time.

Keep a Record of What Was Completed

A checklist records the requested actions, approvals, completion, and exceptions. That makes it easier to identify a service that could not be changed immediately or a device that has not yet been returned.

The process also feeds license and asset records. Role changes deserve the same attention as arrivals and departures, because old permissions can otherwise accumulate while new ones are added.
